Protracted Silence and opinions on the new iPhone…

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

Its as if my new years resolution was to stop blogging altogether. Well now that Im on VL I have a bit more time to add some bits to my little blog site. Ive been able to catch up on some much needed sleep. Heavenly silence more like it…

You guys heard of the new iPhone? It may seem revolutionary at first glance, and it may very well be so, just one problem, it will take forever to get into the world market. Imagine it won’t be on Asian shores till at least 2008. It will be a few months before the thing gets released in the U.S. (June ‘06) and it will be married to Cingular which is a heck of an expensive cellular service to sign up with not to mention its SRP of  $499 and $599 for the 4GB and 8Gb models respectively. Maybe by 2008 Apple’s rivals will have something cooler to offer. The touchscreen and "no buttons" interface isn’t going to bode well for folks used to texting or changing playlists by "touch". Imagine all those fingerprints ruining its pretty face… You’re going to need a non-abrasive cloth in your pocket everywhere you bring it. Another downer for me is it doesn’t have 3G. Even my lowly 6233 has 3G. We’re going to have to wait for the 2nd or 3rd generation iPhone before it has that functionalilty. Overall, I think the iPhone is a stellar piece of technology, thing is there will always be the other side of the coin. Call me a nitpicker but hey it’s just my opinion. Let’s hear yours…

Happy Birthday to moi…

Happy New Year!

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

For folks on a budget this time of year is an opportunity to go light on the pocket. Yesterday I didnt have to pay for supper before shift because my landlord was holding a new year’s party. Then I didnt have to pay for the meal during break, because it was company sponsored through meal stubs. And guess what, I wasnt asked for my stub, so I saved it for later and had a free breakfast as well! Call me cheap but hey ending with a zero balance in your bank account at the end of the month isn’t exactly fulfilling… Kidding aside, Im really thankful to God for how he has sustained me throughout the past seven months as I live on my own, working far away from my loved ones. I have had a learning experience like no other. Seven months ago i left home to - test the waters - so to speak. Well here I am still going strong by Gods grace. Whatever I’ve accomplished I credit to His faithfulness and unerring guidance… Happy New Year!
